World première of the Piano Sonata No.1, “The Queen”, presented by its author, the Swiss composer and pianist Julian Layn, along with highlights from his compositorial oeuvre: excerpts from piano concerto No.1, “Heavy Clouds Over Vast Wide Open”, from piano concerto No.2, “The Ecocalypse”, the piano piece “If You Believe”, and the Impromptu “The French Course”.
Concert matinée at the Tonhalle Zurich, featuring Bach (excerpts from “The Art of the Fugue”, BWV 1080) and his re-discoverer, Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy (String Quintet No.1 in A major, op.18), with members of the Tonhalle Orchestra Zurich

(…) I’m not a professional concert reviewer — but unfortunately, this event went largely unnoticed by the media, and at least in the two newspapers I checked (the Neue Zürcher Zeitung and our local newspaper) the concert was not reviewed at all, so let me try giving at least some rudimentary, subjective comments on how I experienced the evening…
